设计思路:
本单元的话题是“文化遗产”。通过学习本单元,学生应该对中国和世界上著名的文化遗产(包括人文的和自然的)有所了解,并且能够用英语说出它们的名称。此外,通过思考、讨论文化遗产的归属问题,树立文物保护意识。
本单元分为6课时。Period 1 Warming up and Reading (I)-In search of the Amber Room首先让学生对文化遗产的定义和划分有所了解,同时呈现部分生词。然后通过阅读了解琥珀屋。Period 2 Language points主要学习阅读课文中的单词、短语及句型。Period 3 Grammar—Restrictive attributive clause and Non-restrictive attributive clause介绍限定性定语从句和非限定性定语从句,学生应该掌握关系代词、关系副词的正确使用,记住在非限定性定语从句中不能用that。Period 4 Reading (II) and Writing阅读部分通过介绍fact和opinion的定义,结合琥珀屋的轶事,帮助学生将所学内容与实际判断相结合。然后围绕不同的人对待文化遗产的不同态度进行写作练习,引发学生思考,增强文化遗产保护意识。Period 5 Listening and Speaking是围绕有关话题对听、说能力进行训练,学生应掌握用英语表达看法或征求意见。Period 6 Revision让学生学会归纳总结重点,并复习本单元所学的知识。

Warming up and Reading (I)
Teaching aims:
a. 词汇:cultural, look into, rare, belong to, in search of, gift, stone, melt, once, heat, design, fancy, style, jewel, in return, reception, light, mirror, wonder, at war, remove, furniture, secretly, wooden, doubt, remain, mystery, take apart.
b. 句型: In return, the Czar gave the King of Prussia 55 of his best soldiers.
In 1770, the room was completed the way she wanted it.
This was a time when the two countries were at war.
After that, what really happened to the Amber Room remains a mystery.
I think highly of those who are searching for the Amber Room.
c. 能力:Enable Ss to learn how to talk about the story of the Amber Room and have the sense of protecting cultural relics.

Step 1: Warming up
T: In Unit 1 we’ll talk about cultural relics. What is a cultural relic? A cultural relic is something that has survived for a long time, maybe only a part of something old that has remained while the rest of it has been destroyed or has lost. A cultural relic tells people about the past. It is usually rare.
What cultural relics can you think of?
(ppt.: shows the pictures of some cultural relics)
Step 2: Lead-in
T shows a picture of the Amber Room and says: Do you know what it is? It’s the Amber Room, a great gift from the King of Prussia to the Russian people. It had a strange history.
Step 3: Reading
Ss read to get the main idea of the passage.
Answer the following questions:
