Once it is heated, the amber can be made into any shape.一旦被加热,琥珀便可以被制成任何形状。
be made into(+成品) 被制成…,被做成…。如:
Wood can be made into paper.

比较:be made of /from(+原材料) 由…制成/做成。如:

of + n. 相当于 adj., 如:

work: 作品,是可数名词
ever made = that had ever been made

have sth. done 叫别人做某事(不是自己做),如:
He had his hair cut last week.
他上周理了发。
The boss had the papers copied at once.
老板叫人马上复印这些文件。
比较:have sb. do sth. (=make sb. do sth.) 使某人做某事; have sb. doing sth. 任由、容忍某人做某事。如:
What would you have me do? 你要我做什么?
I won’t have you saying such things. 我不容许你讲这种话。
In 1770, the room was completed the way she wanted it. 1770年,这间琥珀屋按照她的要求完成了。
the way she wanted it : in the way that she wanted it
the way 前面省略了in, she wanted it是定语从句,修饰the way。
in the / this / that way中的介词in经常省略。如:
I think you are doing it the wrong way. 我认为你做的方法是错的。
修饰way(方法、方式)的定语从句中关系词可以用 that或 in which,也可以不用关系词。如:
Many people hate the way ( that / in which) she treats her servants. 很多人讨厌她对待仆人的方式。
This was a time when the two countries were at war. 这是在两国交战的时期。
a time: 时期,是可数名词
at war: 交战。类似的短语还有:at work, at dinner, at play等。
There was no doubt that the boxes were then put on a train for Konigsberg, at that time a German city on the Baltic Sea. 毫无疑问,这些箱子后来被装上火车运往哥尼斯堡,当时它是波罗的海边的一个城市。
There is no doubt (that…): 毫无疑问,是固定句型。如:
There is no doubt that the man is telling a lie. 毫无疑问那个人在撒谎。
注意:There is no doubt后接名词时需用介词about / of。如:
There is no doubt about his honesty.毫无疑问他是诚实的。
Following old photos, the new room has been made to look much like the old one. 它是根据旧照片来建造的,样子非常像老的琥珀屋。
Following old photos: being made according to old photos, 是现在分词充当状语,又如:
Finding that her mother had left her alone, the little girl was very disappointed.
发现妈妈留下她独自一人,这个小姑娘很失望。
